Prior to launching NBT Solutions in 2008, Mr. Mitchell was the founder and President of Mitchell Geographics Incorporated (MGI), an award-winning, full-service Geographic Information Technologies consulting group based in Portland, Maine since 2000. MGI provided Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consulting to clients across all sectors, with well over 100 satisfied clients served. Prior to launching MGI, he worked for 5 years for The Environmental Company, Inc. (TEC), building a GIS Group with strong capabilities in GIS, Database Programming, and modeling. Mr. Mitchell is experienced in GIS business analysis, project development and implementation; geographic data collection, creation, and management; and the application of geographic technologies to resource management and planning issues. He is expert in the use and applications of GIS and related software tools, including the MapInfo and ArcGIS suites. He also has substantial experience in GIS needs assessments, digital cartography, data conversions, and GIS application development. Mr. Mitchell is an experienced GIS Trainer, and has provided customized GIS training and consulting to dozens of clients. Mr. Mitchell holds a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master of Science degree in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences from George Mason University. His 15 years of professional experience includes GIS positions in the federal government, state government, and in the private sector. He is active in several industry groups and served for 4 years on the Maine GeoLibrary Board.
 Scott Stewart Mr. Stewart serves as the Chief Technology Officer for NBT Solutions. He is a well-versed technologist with 15 years of professional experience in a wide variety of fields including database design and implementation, data quality and assurance, scientific data processing and production, smart card development and integration, public key infrastructures, cryptography and web services architectures. Mr. Stewart has delivered data management solutions and applications for various state and federal government entities including NASA, NOAA, and the States of Virginia and Hawaii. He also has extensive commercial software product development experience, coming from his years as a senior software engineer for such companies as 3GI, RSA and GuardianEdge. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. He currently resides in historic Williamsburg, Virginia.
 Sam Walker Sam Walker serves several principal roles within NBT, including science advisor and environmental and health program lead. He is also the founder and President of Scinnovations, Inc., a technical, earth and health sciences consulting firm established in South Carolina in 2000. Scinnovations focuses on innovative, science-based solutions for public health geographics, regional planning (including modeling), technology transfer, sustainable development projects, and carbon sequestration initiatives. His professional experience includes consultations or employment in the private, academic, non-profit, and government sectors. Dr. Walker has over 15 years of experience implementing technical projects that incorporate spatial technologies, including remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and digital cartography. He has participated on councils for several federal and state agencies, and currently serves as the alumni representative on the Alternative Energy Council at the University of South Carolina. He is the author or co-author of numerous research and operational grant proposals, technical reports, presentations, and additional publications. Areas of expertise include applied health sciences, spatial modeling, digital image processing, information management, technical requirements process development, metadata application development, landscape characterization, and technical editing. Dr. Walker holds a Bachelors degree in Geography and a Certification in Cartography from UMBC, and Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health.
