NBT's proven, IT-based solutions are helping municipalities manage their existing data and systems in order to develop pro-active, progressive solutions that support community proiects, including: neighborhood stabilizaiton, housing, planning, infrastructure, community development, land use planning, and more. We specialize in leveraging existing databases and GIS investments - quickly transforming them into integrated decision-support tools that don't require significant investments or additonal IT resources. Foreclosures and Vacant Properties NBT's services support the missions of Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) and other housing and community development programs with mapping, data collection, and information compilation services. Currently, we are developing innovative information management tools for the urgent needs of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), a multi-billion dollar emergency housing fund created under the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA) and continued under the American Revitilizaiton and Reinvestment Act. The NSP provides state and local governments with working capital to respond to the problems of foreclosures and vacancies so that they can purchase properties for rehab and resale or hold in land banks, stabilizing the housing markets in low, moderate, and middle income neighborhoods across the United States. NSP II grantmaking is in process, with awards anticipated in December of 2009. We urge NSP program fund recipients in need of technical assistance with data management tools to contact us immediately. NBT's vacancy inventory and real property information system dashboard tool can help target limited resources in your community and subsequently manage your properties more effectively. For more on the NSP, click here to be directed to the HUD program site. For an excellent information resource provided by Neighborworks America please visit www.stablecommunities.org. For those communities struggling with Vacant and Abandoned properties issues, we highly recommend the resources compiled and presented at www.vacantproperties.org.
